MCKEE WELLNESS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES THE NEXT FRONTIER

After depleting her savings battling both leukemia and lymphoma, Marge was faced with a new reality. The chemotherapy that had saved her life had resulted in severe dental abscesses and chronic pneumonia. Her
doctor warned that these conditions would persist – and likely worsen – without dental surgery to remove the affected teeth.

Without funds for the procedure, Marge was desperate and out of options. She turned to McKee Wellness Foundation and the Loveland Community Health Center as a last defense. Without a dedicated fund to support these types of emergencies, we had to work creatively and collaboratively to find a solution. Ultimately, with your help, we were able to
provide Marge with the dental care she so desperately needed. View Marge’s full story here.

Marge’s story is not unlike that which countless others across our community face each day, leading to agonizing decisions between whether to get well or get by. After four decades and more than $40M invested in health and wellness initiatives, McKee Wellness Foundation is blazing a trail once again through The Next Frontier initiative – prioritizing our focus on the community’s greatest health and wellness needs. (Learn how we identified these needs here.)

As the organization you have come to trust in understanding the community’s healthcare landscape – past, present, and future – and with a demonstrated commitment to embracing the greatest challenges, the Foundation has identified the following priority areas   The Next Frontier initiative:

In alignment with this new set of programs, the Foundation is once again partnering with Sunrise Community Health to expand access to quality healthcare, mental health services, dental care, prescription support, and wraparound services for those most in need. Together, with your help, we aim to secure $2 million in funding to support the construction of the Loveland Community Health Center North, a new campus that will better address the needs of our growing community.

Recognizing that a healthy community requires nurturing long into the future, the Foundation has also launched the McKee Legacy Fund, a quasi-endowment aimed at ensuring we can address the greatest challenges facing community members for decades to come.

Thanks to your generosity, Marge regained her health, was able to return to work for the first time in years, and had countless new reasons to share her new smile. With your support, we can help even more individuals, like Marge, by providing a hand up and creating a healthier tomorrow. We’d love to meet with you and learn how we can make your goals a reality as part of this journey.
