Q&A with Nate
What excites you most about your new role?
There are so many things, but I think it’s the depth and breadth of our programs and the impact they have on the community that excites me the most. Whether it’s working with first responder leadership to place AEDs throughout the community and training people in CPR and AED use, or providing direct assistance to patients experiencing a medical crisis, or helping veterans with transportation to their medical appointments, we’re leaning in where it matters most to bridge gaps in health and wellness in northern Colorado. And there is so much more – I am excited to help our small but mighty team expand our reach and impact!
What’s the most important thing you want people to know about the Foundation?
While we will always have strong, deep roots in Loveland through our former affiliation with Banner McKee Medical Center, I don’t think many people realize that we are an independent public charity serving all of Larimer and Weld Counties. During our 45-year history we’ve invested more then $40 million to bridge gaps in health and wellness across northern Colorado – and with our Next Frontier campaign we’re just getting warmed up! Reintroducing ourselves to all of northern Colorado is my highest priority right now.
What’s a fun fact people might not know about you?
While it’s been over 30 years, I am a “retired” collegiate a cappella singer with the Jabberwocks of Brown University, and no one has to twist my arm to get me to a karaoke bar!
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
You put in a lot of hours as a nonprofit executive, so when I am not working, I try to maximize time with my wife and our two children – a senior at Fossil Ridge High School and an 8th grader at Timnath Middle-High School. We’re huge musical theater fans so you’ll often find us at the Lincoln Center or traveling to DCPA. And during COVID I reconnected with road cycling so I love to get out on my bike whenever I can.
