This fund sponsors a support group that provides education and encouragement for men and women who are currently undergoing treatment and those who are survivors of breast cancer. The support group is open to anyone who has had breast cancer regardless of where they received treatment.
Criteria for Use:
Support for monthly dinner meetings with featured topics such as Nutrition and Breast Cancer, Lymphoma, and Radiation Oncology
Support for volunteers at the McKee Regional Cancer Conference
Support for members who participate in Relay for Life and Race for the Cure
Support for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch in October hosted at McKee
Support for members and current Cancer Center patients for the quarterly Celebration of Courage gathering at the Cancer Center
Funding for Hope Bags
Funding for individual support such as home care items, personal goods, prosthetics, wigs, etc.
Funding for patient education materials about the support community and the group
This fund supports patients who need diagnostic testing, biopsy, treatment, or other support related to the diagnosis of breast cancer but may not qualify for other breast cancer support funds.
Criteria for Use:
Eligibility: Patients in need of breast cancer treatment (not eligible for other funding) or in need of testing before treatment can begin (not covered by other funding). A patient with a barrier such as a high deductible may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Financial need: Patients qualify at or below 500% of the current federal poverty level and are not currently eligible for Medicaid or CICP support
Diagnostic testing: $1,000 per patient maximum
Biopsy costs: Paid at the current Medicaid rates
Services covered:
Counseling, co-pays, or cost of support
Rehabilitation and/or physical therapy
Deductible – assists in filling the gap
Wound care costs
Home care support (wound care, transition care, rehabilitation, etc.)
This fund supports men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and need assistance with costs related to screenings, diagnostics, treatment expenses or basic living expenses. Patients may receive up to $500 lifetime maximum.
Criteria for Use:
Residency: Have a permanent address in Larimer County and be served by McKee Medical Center or one of its partners (ex: Loveland Community Health Center or Banner Fort Collins Medical Center)
Financial need: Qualify at or below 500% of the current federal poverty level or are experiencing an unusual financial hardship
And:
Have been recommended by a doctor to have a mammogram, ultrasound, or biopsy
Or:
Have radiology-related medical bills; or
Have been diagnosed with breast cancer need help to cover treatment expenses or basic living expenses. Examples of basic living expenses include, but are not limited to:
This fund supports access to breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, and treatment plus assistance for life necessities. Patients may receive up to $500 lifetime maximum.
Criteria for Use:
Uninsured and underinsured women
Residency: Have a permanent address in Larimer County or are served by McKee Medical Center or one of its partners within Larimer County
Financial need: Qualify at or below 500% of the current federal poverty level
And:
Have been recommended by a doctor to have a mammogram, ultrasound, or biopsy
Or:
Have radiology-related medical bills; or
