Cancer Bridge
The Bridge Fund provides both prescription assistance and emergency funds to support current cancer patients who are unable to afford their medications or other costs associated with ongoing needs during treatment. The intended use of this fund is to increase access to cancer treatment care by alleviating barriers. There is a $750 maximum award per patient.
Criteria for Use:
- Financial need: Patients qualify at or below 500% of the current federal poverty level
- Examples for use:
- Living expenses: rent/mortgage, car payment, utilities, groceries, gas, other non-medical living expenses
- Medical costs: insurance co-pays, medical bills, procedures
RamStrength
RamStrength supports local cancer survivors and those undergoing treatment by providing financial assistance for basic needs, scholarships, programs and services. Up to $600 (once per rolling or calendar 12-month period) is available. Please talk to a McKee oncology social worker for referral before applying for this fund.
Criteria for Use:
- Financial need: Patients qualify at or below 500% of the current federal poverty level. Upon recommendation by the Mckee Wellness Foundation executive director, on a case-by-case basis the RamStrength Board of Directors may approve the use of funds for patients who do not meet the federal poverty level requirement.
- Examples for use:
- Medical costs: Insurance co-pays, prescriptions, and insurance premiums
- Living expenses: Rent/mortgage, car payments, utilities, telephone
- Access to care: Gas/transportation, day care, respite care
- Research (upon approval): To reduce barriers for participation in research, access to trials, or costs associated with access to trials
